Phoenix Rising Foundation is dedicated to providing safe, stable housing and supportive pathways that empower individuals to rebuild their lives after crisis. Guided by the belief that from the ashes of struggle, stability begins again, we strive to foster an environment where individuals can heal, regain independence, and pursue meaningful opportunity.
Through structured programming, community partnerships, and compassionate support, the Foundation works to remove barriers, restore dignity, and promote sustainable transformation.
The Housing Crisis:
22.6 Million Renters Struggle With Housing Costs
Nearly half of all renters in the United States — 22.6 million households — spend more than they can afford on housing, leaving less money for food, transportation, healthcare, and other necessities.
When housing costs consume too much of a household’s income, it becomes significantly harder for individuals to save money, recover from setbacks, or build long-term stability.
Severe Shortage of Affordable Housing
There are only 35 affordable and available homes for every 100 extremely low-income renter households in the United States, creating a massive gap between housing supply and need.
This shortage impacts communities across the country and leaves many individuals competing for a limited number of affordable homes.
Homelessness Is Rising
In 2024, more than 771,000 people were experiencing homelessness in the United States, the highest level recorded since national tracking began.
For many individuals, the primary driver is not personal failure—it is simply the lack of affordable housing options.
Millions of Homes Are Missing
The United States currently faces a shortage of about 4 million homes needed to meet demand, which continues to push housing costs higher.
Without increased housing supply and innovative housing solutions, affordability challenges are expected to persist for years.
Phoenix Rising Foundation helps individuals rebuild stability by providing safe, affordable, and furnished rooms in supportive shared housing environments. Each resident has a private space to call their own while benefiting from a community-oriented home designed to promote safety, dignity, and personal growth.
Our mission goes beyond simply providing housing. We work to ensure residents have access to the tools and resources needed to move forward in life. Through educational opportunities, life-skills training, and supportive services, we aim to help individuals develop the knowledge, confidence, and stability needed to build a stronger future.
